This passage below, spoke to my soul today.
“When we walk like (we are rushing), we print anxiety and sorrow on the earth. We have to walk in a way that we only print peace and serenity on the earth… Be aware of the contact between your feet and the earth. Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet.” by Thich Nhat Hanh from the book ‘Peace in every step’.
I am experiencing a lot of problems with my leg and I can not walk like I used to. I am experiencing fatigue like I have never known before and yet each offers its own opportunity to see the world from a different perspective.
I do suffer pain and yes frustration but I am choosing to see this as only a different part of the whole journey.
Even the tears I shed in grief for the person I used to be and those days when I feel small and afraid for the future,
they are simply more brightly coloured threads that are weaving into the tapestry that speaks of my life. And perhaps they are the most brightly coloured ones, the ones of my trails, for from these trials
I find great insight of human nature
and in my weakness I find strength to see even more of the beauty and connectedness of everything and everyone.
Whenever I can I walk barefoot on the grass on the cliffs or through the shore edge waves and trickling streams, through forest floor and sandy coves. When pains only option is a slower life, with new eyes I see the folly of rushing.
My goal today is to walk in awareness and compassion, walking gently upon the earth.
Love, compassion and kindness is everything.
