Lovely Sunday walk in Kennall Vale. We have been here two and half years and only just found this amazing woodland just a 15 minute drive from our house.
The walks that run through this vale are muddy at this time of year, there is dense foliage, huge boulders,
open waterways and scattered ruins giving plenty of nature to get lost in, ancient and interesting, it is steeped in history. The Kennall Vale Gunpowder Works was one of the county’s most important producers of gunpowder, closed in 1910, there is much evidence of its workings remaining in ruins which are gradually being reclaimed by the woodland landscape. Max and Jacob had plenty to explore
Willow enjoyed the diversity and the water ways
The trees show their faces
The ruins were all along the walk
Walking in the woodland
Life is a journey
